Facilities Engineering staff is gearing up for the opening of the new JMC hospital at UCSD. It has been my pleasure to provide building and system orientations to this experienced team of system and building operators. They have a big job on their hands preparing to operate and maintain this 500,000+ square foot addition to the existing Thornton Hospital and Sulpizio Cardio Vascular Center.
Phase 1 has turned over to the Medical Center for staff and stock, and phase 2 is scheduled for this summer.
These men and women do a fantastic job keeping things running smoothly throughout the medical center campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thank you for your critical thinking, excellent questions, dedication and perseverance throughout this project. We look forward to a successful opening to the public later this year!
